This is no surprise to me. McCain was primarily nominated as the Republican candidate by independents and Democrats voting in Republican primaries. There are certain things Im rather fond of remembering about those who claim to side with conservatives yet more often than not side with those who show little regard for the constitution, for our liberties, our prosperity and/or security. I made a little 'top ten' list to remind myself why I have little use for McCain. Here they are:
1. Campaign finance reform (Gave us the McCain/Feingold 1st Amendment Repeal Act)
2. Immigration (Shamnesty = what happens to the Rule of Law?)
3. Tax cuts (He opposed all of Bushs tax cuts so which is it now?)
4. Gay marriage (He doesnt support an amendment)
5. Stem cell research (He's fine with using aborted babies which is totally unnecessary)
6. Global warming (He's onboard with Al Gore and the rest of the flat earth society)
7. Gang of 14 (Undermined a conservative effort to end Democrat filibusters against the Bush judicial nominees.)
8. Kerry," and the vice presidential thing," (He considered running as Kerry VP against Bush)
9. Sides with Democrats (He usually sides with democrats more than his own party)
10. Cafe standards and the Cap and trade nonsense
A couple of these things arent a big deal but more than a few are indeed a very great deal or should be to informed voters imho.
During the campaign I made and used bumper stickers that said " Palin/McWhatshisname" in the style of the ones that said McCain/Palin.
